SYPHON - SIPHON
These flushing syphons are designed with the purpose of rapid discharge of a water volume into a water course for the purpose of washing down settled matter that have settled due to low flow conditions.
The frequency of discharge is determined by adjusting the trickle inflow into the storage tank.
Ideally the are used to ways out sewers and channels where it is difficult to achieve the required gradients for proper water flow with enough continuous carrying velocities.
Through the use of these in relative flat environments, sewer and waste lines, and collection channels are regular cleaned and blockages due to build-up is minimise and/or eliminated.
NO MOVING PARTS
Typical uses:
- Sewer Flushing.
- Flushing of Abattoir wash-down collection channels.
- Flushing of Broiler wash-down collection channels.
- Flushing of any other channel/pipes with general low flow conditions.
Flushing syphons are installed in either concrete tanks (most popular) or steel tanks constructed and installed above ground level.

Technicals Information:

Three types of Syphons are available -
Limited to the diameter of the syphon:
- TYPE A
Sewer Flushing syphons are arranged to discharge direct in the sewer and is provided with a vent pipe.
Available in 200, 250 and 300mm Widths - TYPE B
Discharge into an adjoining chamber or open channel, to which one or more sewers are connected. - TYPE C
The complete unit is constructed and build into a steel tank which is installed above ground level and be installed at any reasonable level
Only practical for 100 and 150 diameter syphons.
